ABOUT the KIVETTE HOUSE
The Kivette House was built in 1934 by P.L. Kivette, the first millionaire in the area, who sold lumber and coal in downtown Gibsonville. This house, not their main residence, was built for entertaining and entertaining it did! The Kivette House has a well known reputation for Christmas parties, garden parties, fund raisers, Elon gatherings and wedding celebrations.
The "sisters" Camille and Florence Olga Kivette were well known and visible in the community. They hosted the "Christmas Party" with approximately 500 in attendance from 1954 - 1998; always the Sunday before Christmas.
For years the house has seemed a mystery by most because all functions were private and by invitation only. BUT NOW, the Kivette House is open to the public for lodging and small events.
Mr. P.L. Kivette and the family were strong supporters of Elon University.
Vernon and Lynn Brady are very familiar with hospitality, events and inn keeping. They created the Burke Manor Inn as the areas first event venue and demonstrated the finest of hospitality. They sold the inn after operating it for 12 years.
Now after raising their family and enjoying this beautiful property, known as the Kivette House as their personal home they are excited to share the Kivette House with you.
The Brady's understand the need for a facility especially for intimate weddings, small gatherings and Christmas parties.
